Nilinaw ng Department of Justice na hindi pa idinedeklara bilang “fugitive from justice” si Batangas 1st District Rep. Leandro Leviste.
Ayon sa DOJ, may proseso munang kailangang sundin bago pormal na ideklarang pugante ang isang indibidwal.
Ito ay taliwas sa naunang pahayag ni National Bureau of Investigation Director Atty. Melvin Matibag na ikinukunsidera na si Leviste bilang “fugitive from justice.”
May arrest warrant na inilabas ang Makati Regional Trial Court laban kay Leviste kaugnay ng kasong paglabag sa Public Service Act.
